I am contemplating going there on the way up to or back from the Nashville Oppo Meet since I have never been before. I looked at their site and it seems like a pretty awesome place. I just wanted to see if anybody else on here has been and if so, what their thoughts were on it.

I actually live quite near this place. It’s cool even if you aren’t all that interested in motorcycles. If you can get into the basement, for sure go, but they don’t usually let people down there. The whole place is gorgeous, especially looking out at the track from the museum.

Yes and it’s awesome! I was there as part of a work trip and come to think of it I forgot to post about it on here. Oops! We had the place to ourselves after hours including a banquet right in the middle of everything. And they gave us a tour of the normally restricted bottom floor and shop area.

Pretty awesome. I’m 20 minutes away and have only been once, but it’s got broad appeal — especially for the following (in this order):
Motorcycle enthusiasts — the largest private collection in the world? Some really odd and crazy stuff, too.
Lotus fans — also the largest collection of its kind, IIRC
General racing fans — John Surtees’ Ferrari from the 60s, Nigel Mansell’s Lotus from the 80s, etc.
As a bonus, the museum overlooks the racetrack, so you’ll usually see either a track day or (more likely) the Porsche Driving School milling around at decent speeds.
